Societies Grants

​A number of travel grants to attend the FENS Forum 2018 are offered by several of the FENS member societies, by SfN and by various companies and organisations. See links below for more information.  

German Neuroscience Society

The German Neuroscience Society – Neurowissenschaftliche Gesellschaft (NWG) – is offering 30 travel grants for the participation in the 11th Forum of European Neuroscience in Berlin, Germany on July 7 - 11, 2018. 

Amount of grant: 500 each

Criteria for application:

  • Travel grants are available for Ph. D. students and young postdocs only
  • Applicants must be up to the age of 35 years at the time of application
  • Applicants must participate with their own contribution
  • Applicants must be the first author of the contribution
  • Applicants must be members of the German Neuroscience Society either working in Germany or abroad.
In order to apply please submit the following documents: 
  • 1 page CV
  • A  list of publications
  • A copy of the abstract
  • One short letter of recommendation
Applications can now be submitted via the website of the German Neuroscience Society. 

The deadline for application is 13 February 2018.


SOCIETY FOR NEUROSCIENCE

Society for Neuroscience – SFN is offering 15 travel awards to support members from the United States, Canada, and Mexico, who have advanced to PhD candidacy or are postdoctoral fellows to attend the FENS Forum 2018 in Berlin, Germany. 

Amount of grant: Up to $2,000 each

HELLENIC SOCIETY FOR NEUROSCIENCE

The Hellenic Society for Neuroscience has selected their travel grant awardees. 


BELGIAN SOCIETY FOR NEUROSCIENCE 

The Belgian Society for Neuroscience is offering 6 travel grants to support the participation to the FENS Forum. Applicants must be a member of the Belgian Society for Neuroscience at the time of the application. 

Amount of grant: €500 each

FRENCH NEUROSCIENCE SOCIETy

The French Neuroscience Society will be awarding a number of travel grants to students attending the FENS Forum in Berlin. The applicant must be a member of the French Neuroscience Society. 

Amount of grant: €500 each

SPANISH SOCIETY FOR NEUROSCIENCE

The Spanish Society for Neuroscience is supporting the young scientist careers by offering 30 travel grants for applicants attending the 11th FENS Forum 2018.
 
20 grants for PhD students: Up to €350 each
10 grants for postdoctoral researchers: Up to €350 each

BRITISH NEUROSCIENCE ASSOCIATION

The British Neuroscience Association is offering a selection of competitive travel bursaries for FENS Forum 2018. Applicants must have been a BNA member for at least 6 months leading up to the travel bursary deadline.

Amount of grant: Up to £250 each

Applications can now be submitted via the website of the British Neuroscience Association.


Italian SOCIETY for NEUROSCIENCE

The Italian Society for Neuroscience will award 10 grants to its pre-doctoral and post-doctoral members for the participation in the FENS Forum 2018.

Amount of grant: €300 each

Applications can be submitted via the website of the Italian Society for Neuroscience.

Austrian NEUROSCIENCE association

The Autrian Neuroscience Association is sponsoring 5 travel grants for its student members to attend the FENS Forum 2018 in Berlin.

Amount of grant: €400 each

Applications can be submitted via the website of the Autrian Neuroscience Association.


National NEUROSCIENCE SOCIETY OF ROMANIA

The National Neuroscience Society of Romania offers 3 travel grants for its members to attend the FENS Forum of Neuroscience in Berlin. Applicants must be affiliated to a Romanian institution and younger than 35 years of age at the time of application.

POLISH NEUROSCIENCE SOCIETY 

The Polish Neuroscience Society will award 6 travel grants to support PhD students and researchers at Polish research institutions attending the Forum. Applicants must be members of the Polish Neuroscience Society.

Neuroscience Ireland are offering 10 travel bursaries for young NSI members to attend the Forum in Berlin.

Companies and organisations: 

Proteintech

Proteintech is proud to support researchers by offering four travel grants to attend the 2018 FENS Forum meeting in Berlin. The travel award is open to Phd studens, lab managers and post-docs based at European universities and research institutions.
